Passionate about choice;

positive about homeopathy

The “homeopathy has worked for me” campaign is being run by H:MC21

(Homeopathy: Medicine for the 21st Century).

H:MC21 is a non-profit-making organisation which was set up to promote homeopathy and to defend the right of people in the UK to choose homeopathy as a therapy within the National Health Service, as set out in its charter.

H:MC21 is applying for charity status with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. You can read the objectives of the H:MC21 below The trustees of H:MC21 (details also below) are homeopaths who are passionate about choice, and who wish to defend homeopathy against the attacks which are being made at present.

H:MC21 does not represent any particular organisation of homeopaths or patients, but offers itself as an organisation running positive campaigns in which all can take part.

The Objects of H:MC21 (Homeopathy: Medicine for the 21st Century)

  ... conducted by the Charity;

  ... conducted by others;

3. campaigning for increased levels of research and use of homeopathy.”

The Trustees of H:MC21 (Homeopathy: Medicine for the 21st Century)

Ursula Kraus-Harper MA PhD RSHom (Chair)

Uschi was born in Bremen, Northern Germany, studied economics, sociology and social psychology at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and graduated in 1981 as Diplom-Soziologin (MA in Sociology); moved to England in 1988; PhD (doctorate) from the Faculty of Economics at Imperial College London in 1994. She has lived and worked in many countries all over the world, consulting, teaching, researching. In 1996, while living in India, she found a homeopath who cured her from years of migraines (for which she had tried various drug treatments, as well as acupuncture). That is when she became curious about homeopathy and its German origins. After returning from India she studied homoeopathy at London College of Classical Homoeopathy and graduated with a licence to practise in 2003. She is a registered member of The Society of Homeopaths, and a Fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine.

She practises in Filgrave near Newport Pagnell, and in Milton Keynes. In her consulting room hangs a little framed quote by an Indian friend. Some twenty years ago this friend had been told by specialists that he had about six months to live. By chance he saw a homeopath who gave him some of those little white pills, and within two months he recovered. "Homeopathy?” this friend said, “I don't understand it, I don't believe in it but I am alive because of it!"

William Alderson RSHom (Secretary)

William trained at The London School of Classical Homoeopathy. He had originally sought homeopathic treatment out of desperation, but it was not simply the success of the treatment that convinced him of the importance of homeopathy. When he read Samuel Hahnemann’s Organon of Medicine and discovered that this was a medical system with a sound scientific basis, he determined to find out more, and ultimately to train as a homeopath himself.

William’s other interests and employment have included being a director of an arts charity (Lynx Theatre and Poetry); working in small scale touring theatre in a wide range of jobs; working as a video editor in television news; and campaigning on many issues. He is also a poet, photographer and letterpress printer, designing and printing by hand work for such bodies as the Bodleian Library, Seven Stories, and the BBC. He is a founding member and Treasurer of Wissey Valley Arts in West Norfolk, and has helped create and organise an annual arts festival in the village in which he lives.

Jennifer Prescott Dooley RSHom

Jennifer was raised in a family with a strong medical background, with most family members being doctors, dentists, and pharmacists. In spite of this, she was also introduced from an early age to alternative treatments, and grew up seeing that both forms of medicine could be used well side by side. As a teenager, she worked for her father, an oral surgeon and orthodontist, and assisted him in surgery, observing his use of acupressure in place of anaesthetic. The patients were pain free both during and after operations. After a car accident at 14, which left Jennifer in constant pain, her father took her to many different therapies, including physical therapy incorporating yoga, kinesthesiology, cranial osteopathy, acupuncture, and naturopathy (which included homeopathy). With the use of homeopathy, cranial osteopathy, and yoga throughout her life, she has been able to control her pain without the use of drugs.

Jennifer believes strongly that homeopathy should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford it, and that there is a place for it in the NHS. In addition to her private practice, Jennifer has devoted herself to this goal, being involved in charity work with people who are least able to access any form of health care. The charities she has worked with provide free or low cost homeopathic treatment for the homeless, people with drug and alcohol dependency, clients with mental health needs, women suffering domestic violence, asylum seekers who have been victims of rape and torture, and with the local Surestart providing training and treatment to pregnant women and mothers with babies. In addition to this, she has been involved in two research projects, one a pilot project with GetWell UK, a charity providing CAM therapies through GP referral on the NHS and which won an award from the Foundation for Integrated Health. The second project involves testing newly developed trauma remedies on asylum seeking women who have suffered from rape, torture and genocide.

Graduated from the College of Homeopathy, London in 1999, Jennifer is fully insured and registered with the Society of Homeopaths. Married to an Englishman, Jennifer has lived in London for 27 years, has two children and two grandchildren, all of whom have benefited from homeopathic treatment.

Dr Rajesh Bhide BHMS

Born in Mumbai, India, and now living to London, Rajesh received his homeopathic medical degree from Mumbai University in 1995 and has been in practice ever since. He currently practises in West London. Teaching has been one of his passions along with homeopathic practice. He has recently joined the H:MC21 team and is very eager to answer all the medicine and science related questions about our wonderful therapy.

He strongly feels it's high time, especially in the UK, that we actually put into practice what Hahnemann urged all homeopaths to believe: Aude Sapere - Dare to be Wise !
